Hello, friends!
As of today, I am taking bookings for October-December. Outdoor only. August and September are full. I am booking 1 session a week to keep space between sessions. This is to ensure that we all make sure we are well before and after a session. I ask that we keep a 6ft distance and that we all wear a mask to the session until you are posed and then masks off is fine. If we are one on one, 6ft distance with no mask is okay.
Thank you, again. I hope you are finding moments of peace and joy and staying well amidst all the chaos of the world right now.
Peace,
Katy

Hello, all! Please reference my update below for more detailed information regarding working through this pandemic as a photographer, but I thought I’d provide an update that I will begin booking sessions mid-late August/beginning of September. At this juncture, I foresee likely not offering indoor sessions the rest of this year. This may change, obviously, but recent data is showing that exposure indoors is the fastest way the virus spreads. Thank you all, so much, again, for being amazingly supportive and patient. You’re rockstars, and I look forward to future sessions together.
Peace,
Katy

Hello, friends!
I've received a lot of messages and emails regarding bookings for the summer, and I want to first say THANK YOU for still thinking of me and being gentle in your asking. Many of you have been aware of and sensitive to the fact that the pandemic has probably changed things. And it has.
I miss the ease of booking previous to the pandemic and definitely want to get back to that same feeling as soon as possible. For me, "as soon as possible” means as soon as it’s safe to do so. I stopped booking and shifted gears for already booked sessions when the Safer At Home Order was put into place, but the abrupt end to the Safer At Home Order has not made me want to start booking just yet.
Here are the milestones I'm looking to meet in order to make an informed decision about booking again:
1. A plan to photograph people safely that considers # of people present in sessions and whether my packages are going to change based on the economic downturn.
2. A two-week decrease in the rate of new COVID-19 cases in Southeastern Wisconsin (Rock, Jefferson, and Walworth Counties).
I am working hard on the first milestone. The plan could look like a lot of mini sessions/"Front Porch Sessions" on a sliding scale basis to accommodate all income types. It may look like not booking until full sessions are safe to do. I may require masks until a photo is taken, I may not. I may require contactless payments. While I obviously have control over this milestone, please understand it takes time as well as emotional adjustment. Many helpful friends and clients have mentioned the "Drive-by Photoshoots" or "Front Porch Sessions" a lot this last month and while I love that photographers are adapting during these times in that way, I have thought a lot about how part of my style is being close to you and your family. I photograph practically on top of people. We connect. We share energy (woo-woo, but don't care). The idea of standing millions of feet from you feels off from what my heart normally appreciates (and what clients often thank me for post session!).
Milestone two is the one I have less control over. But we can all contribute to the continued flattening of the curve by following recommended guidelines: wash your hands often, maintain physical distance from others, wear a mask in public spaces, and stay home if you are sick.
I miss getting creative with you, but I would be heartbroken if I knew that someone got sick after a session together. So for that reason, I'm not booking sessions until the time is right.
I will keep you posted on Facebook, Instagram, and via email if you're already a client of mine. I'll post updates on my website, too. Until then, stay safe, and thank you for your continued support.
Peace,
Katy
