Poetry: Floating By

Poem-a-Day challenge with Writer's Digest. Prompt: Write an F-title poem.

Floating By

Low points
like gray space
and a drawn face
like gravity pulls.
Pulled somewhere
and also nowhere
at a meandering pace--
floating by
crane calls,
phone calls,
calls from the Muse.
She asks, "This?"
And your response
is silence,
a shrug.
Whatever it is
is another thing to lug.
So sit and stare.
Act like you don't care.
See how long you float.
Feels lighter this way,
even if only an illusion.
